It is free to enter. The atmosphere is low-key and unhurried — vendors don’t chase you, prices are marked or agreed upon calmly, and the quality of goods is notably higher than at the big tourist markets. Expect to spend longer than you planned.\nOn Saturday, Sunday, and Tuesday evenings, Phare Circus performers drop in for pop-up shows. Phare — Cambodia’s celebrated social enterprise circus — has been a partner of the market since its 2013 launch. The performances are spontaneous and free; they typically happen in the early evening and last around 20 minutes. If you’re in town on one of these nights, it’s worth timing your market visit around 6–7pm.\nThe market was formerly located at Kings Road Angkor before moving to its current spot on Oum Khun Street. It is now a well-established fixture of the local arts and crafts scene — smaller than you might expect from the name, but consistently praised by visitors for the authenticity of what’s on offer.\nFor first-time visitors: bring cash (USD or Riel both accepted), don’t rush, and take time to speak with the vendors — most are happy to explain their craft and the story behind their work.\n
