Sunday Community Workshop (Free / Donation) — Aum Yoga Center
Every Sunday evening Aum Yoga Center gives its main studio over to something different — a workshop, a special session, a community gathering — and it is free. Donation-based, in the true spirit of yoga: you give the instructor whatever you feel like giving, or nothing at all.
What actually happens changes week to week. Recent Sundays have included breathwork and sound healing, a somatic pilates session, an ecstatic-dance evening with live music, and a full afternoon celebration for the International Day of Yoga. Roughly once a month the centre also hosts Kirtan — call-and-response devotional chanting, which is one of the easier ways into Indian devotional practice for people who would never call themselves religious.
Because it is free and open to anyone, the Sunday slot draws a mix you do not usually get in a yoga room: long-term expats, Khmer staff from the hotel, curious travellers who wandered up from the pool. No experience is required and there is no expectation that you can do anything in particular.
Sundays, usually starting at 6:00pm — though afternoon start times happen for the bigger workshops. The programme is announced week by week, so message the centre to confirm what is on: 012 508 218.
