Apsara Dance & Dinner — Park Hyatt Siem Reap
Apsara Dance & Dinner — Park Hyatt Siem Reap
Park Hyatt Siem Reap’s “An Enchanting Evening” brings together two of Cambodia’s greatest pleasures — classical Khmer cuisine and traditional Apsara dance — in one of the city’s most beautiful outdoor settings. Held in the hotel’s open-air courtyard beneath a majestic Banyan tree, the evening unfolds at a civilised pace: guests are seated as dusk falls, a Khmer set menu arrives course by course, and the stage comes alive with a live Apsara performance.
Apsara dance is Cambodia’s royal art form — a tradition listed by UNESCO as Intangible Cultural Heritage, restored from near-extinction by a small group of masters who survived the Khmer Rouge era. Watching it performed live, in a setting designed to honour it, is a genuinely different experience from a hotel lobby show or a cultural buffet. The Park Hyatt staging is intimate, the dancers classically trained, and the candlelit courtyard quiet enough to actually hear the music.
The evening is available daily. It opens with a Candle Release Ceremony from 6:00–7:00 PM — a serene ritual of releasing floating candles into the courtyard, symbolising the letting go of worries and welcoming peace. The Apsara Dance & Dinner follows from 7:00–9:00 PM, with the full experience running until 10:00 PM. Reservations are recommended — this is a popular evening for both hotel guests and outside visitors.
